Sometimes, you wonder – can it get any better?
Seriously. If we are looking for God’s favor in our lives… and if we are choosing to “not dwell on what was lost but to build on what remains”… when you think about what we were able to be a part of in outreach this weekend at Elevation Church - it just doesn’t get any better.
(If you’re wondering what in the world we’re talking about, you must check out the sermon archive at ElevationChurch.org)
You’ll see more during Code Orange Christmas – but we wanted to share just a few details and photos from Saturday’s dedication of Elevation’s first-ever Habitat for Humanity home.
We’ve been a part of building many homes in the past – but this is the first one entirely paid for and built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity by the generous, hard-working, Jesus-loving people of Elevation.
Pastor Steven joined us to meet the family who worked hard to get this home, and to celebrate with those who played a role in building it.
93 volunteers blitzed the West Charlotte neighborhood before the dedication. We mowed and raked lawns, we picked up and hauled away a truckload of trash, and we completed minor fix-up projects for the neighbors.
Thank you for being generous with your time and your resources.
If you’ve ever given to the mission and vision of Elevation, YOU are a part of this new home and all it means to Jamicka and her daughter Armani and her family.
So if you ever wonder, what does Elevation Church do to serve in this community… Saturday was a perfect snapshot.
We sweep. We build. We paint. We clean. We pray. We serve. We give. We love. Because Jesus first loved us.

I’VE HEARD SUCH GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS CHURCH, AND HAAVE VISITED YOUR WEBSITE SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY AND LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR CHURCH! I’VE REALLY WANTED TO VISIT FOR A LONG TIME NOW BUT HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD SON (NOAH) AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE IS A PLACE (NURCERY) FOR HIM TO GO TO SO THAT I CAN LISTEN AND LEARN AND WORSHIP! I WANT TO FIND A CHURCH TO CALL HOME AND A PLACE WHERE I CAN BRING MY SON UP IN. SEEING THE WORK THAT IS DONE IN THE COMMUNITY MAKES ME FURTHER WANT TO VISIT THIS CHURCH! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON! I believe in God and I know Jesus Loves me but why can’t I believe in me? Your Church does great things. God Bless you all.
Hi Rebecca – thank you so much for your comments.
When you begin seeing yourself like God sees you, you will believe in yourself.
Many of us have had too many people in our lives who did not lift us up but who brought us down.
I’d highly recommend you listen to the sermon titled: “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.”
