06 Apr Helping kids GROW
^Blakeney READS has connected volunteers to students looking to grow – and it’s working. Young scholars at Quail Hollow Middle School were chosen based on their desire, potential, and capacity to succeed and we are hearing great things about their progress.
James McDowell says walking beside his Blakeney READS student has been so encouraging. James started attending Elevation with his wife last April. He loves kids and when he heard about Blakeney READS he was excited about the opportunity. In their seven weeks together, his student’s grades have improved significantly not just in reading but in every subject.
Ashleigh Glass leads our Wednesday team and she says, “I love my student, but even more, I love the genuine community we’re building together at the school. We look forward to seeing each other every week almost as much as we look forward to seeing the kids.”
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
